Geelong Vintage Market

Located inside the recently renovated Pivot City complex, this is arguably Geelong’s best vintage warehouse. Home to a million-and-one thing you didn’t know you needed: mid-century furniture, vintage clothing, LPs, collectibles, jewellery, old tools, toys and everything in between. Geelong Vintage Market isn’t quite the bargain playground it once was – word got out a few years ago – but there’s still plenty of treasure to be found. Come early and grab a coffee and chilli scramble at Picker’s Union, right nextdoor.

Pakington Street

Pakington St (Geelong West and Newtown)

If there’s one street in Geelong known for vintage and second-hand goods, it’s Pakington Street in Geelong West. Here you’ll find dedicated vintage markets, plus op-shops galore. Stop and browse at The Garage – a sprawling retro warehouse, full of great furniture and knick-knacks – then hit up the MS Community Shop, the Salvos, Vinnies and the Geelong West Uniting Op-Shop. It’s a pleasant walk up and down Pakington Street, and you can re-fuel at literally dozens of cafes and restaurants.

Piccadilly Market

Piccadilly Market is a fantastic artisan and craft market, showcasing the best makers and creators on the Bellarine. It’s usually held in the Geelong West Town Hall, just off Pakington Street, but occasionally it ventures over the river to the Belmont Market precinct. You can check upcoming dates and locations on the website. This is the spot if you’re looking for handmade clothing, organic skincare products, succulent bowls, art and design, or just a lazy browse with a coffee in-hand. Piccadilly also supports the Black Dog Institute, so make sure to leave a gold coin at the door.  

Belmont Sunday Market

1 Barwon Heads Rd, Belmont
Every Sunday, the giant carpark on Barwon Heads Road fills up with stalls, food trucks and people selling stuff out of their car boot. This is the Belmont Sunday Market, Geelong’s unofficial trash-and-treasure market, and it’s always a good way to start your morning. The odds of picking up a genuine bargain are much higher here than the official vintage warehouses, although you might have to trawl through a lot of pre-loved ‘90s DVDs to find one. A gold coin gets you in, and there are plenty of food trucks on-site, if you’re feeling peckish.

The Amazing Mill Markets

114 Bellarine Hwy, Whittington

Amazing is the right word. The Mill Markets on the Bellarine Highway in Newcombe, just east of Geelong, is straight-up incredible. Row upon row of vintage clothing, books, paintings, furniture, jewellery, antiques, memorabilia, fine china, old coins and collectibles. Whenever there’s an estate sale anywhere on the Bellarine peninsula, you can bet the best stuff is ending up here. There’s a café on-site, and we encourage you to dedicate at least an hour or two: you’ll need it to get through everything. This place is massive.

Portarlington Sunday Market

There are plenty of fantastic weekend markets on the Bellarine Peninsula, and we could have easily called out Barwon Heads Market or the Queenscliff Community Market, but Portarlington might be the pick of the bunch. Situated up on the hill at WG Little Reserve, just near the main strip and looking out over Port Phillip Bay, it’s a great spot for a weekend rummage. The stalls are a mix of vintage, food and artisan craft, so there’s a little something for everyone, and it's held on the fourth Sunday of each month. Afterwards, you can wander down to the waterfront, or grab a pie at The Portarlington Bakehouse. They make some of the best pastries in the region.
